A special "Thank You" to Ms. Elaine Powers for sharing her book titled "Guam: Return of the Songs, Guahan: Ritiran Kanta Siha" with our Head Start and Kindergarten students at our school Library as well as our 1st-2nd Grade students via Zoom.

 Her background includes being a retired biologist, actor, and singer as well as a passionate conservationist focused on reptiles. Also, Ms. Powers is the author of over 25 science-based children’s stories and scripts.

Football 4 Schools PEP RALLY🙌🤩

A special Thank You to Sgt. Paul Tapao of the GPD and Youth Representatives from the Guam Football Association for joining our 3rd-5th Grade students for a special Pep Rally at FES honoring our FES football student athletes and athletic coaches. 

A fun day filled with cheering and messages promoting healthy lifestyles through sports involvement and a life away from violence and drugs.

Congratulations to Roxann Namio (5th Grade, Rm. 202 - bottom L) for winning 1st Place in the schoolwide competition and Zian Aggabao (5th Grade, Rm. 201, bottom R) for capturing 2nd Place and being an Alternate(: The competition went 23 rounds before announcing an overall winner.

The winning word? SUFFICE

Kudos to all 38 students who participated and to the Spelling Bee Committee for doing a excellent job coordinating this annual event.

Slingstone Throwing Presentation @ Tumon

Our WAVE Club advisors and student members had the opportunity to learn about the ancient CHamoru art of slingstone throwing by Senot Roman Dela Cruz and Sinot Vicente Rosario. 

Overall, they learned about the historical significance of slingstone in ancient times and how it is tied in CHamoru heritage and traditions. The students were also taught the proper way/steps in throwing a slingstone. 

It was fun day and educational one for all to enjoy.(:

5th Annual FADE AWAY from VIOLENCE Kickball Tournament 2024

Congratulations to our awesome student players and coaches for moving on to the ELITE 8 Playoffs by winning their two matches of the day at the GFA Field in Harmon:

Match 1: Win over Talofofo E.S., 2-1 in OT  

Match 2: Win over Astumbo E.S., 3-0

The Elite 8 Playoffs will be scheduled on December 14, 2024 from 9am-3pm at the same location.  Good luck to our GUIHAN as they will seek to defend their title.

A special and heartfelt "Thank You" to our awesome volunteers from the Guam Army National Guard - Charlie Company, Dededo Mayor's Office, Senator Chris Barnett and Staff, FES FATE/PTO Officers, Parents, Faculty and Staff and their families for taking their time out on a Sunday for grass cutting around the campus.              Labor of Love! A special "Thank You" to our awesome volunteers (Mr. Malinao, Mrs. Slusser, Mrs. Soriano, Mrs. Manglona, Ms. Lanada and their families along with the Selilog family) for taking their time out on a Saturday to disassemble our weathered 2x4 wood beams along the walkway leading to our ESL, GATE, and CHamoru classrooms as well as grass cutting. More importantly, student, faculty, and staff  safety in mind as a priority for all who visit our campus.

RED RIBBON WEEK PRESENTATIONS

WAVE Club Celebrates Launch of the

Guam Kids Magazine

Kudos to our FES Wave Club for participating in the Guam Kids Magazine Launch (CHalan Deskubre) at the Aquarium of Guam today.  This magazine's primary focus is on STEM exploration of ideas and activities with children in mind.  Members were able to tour the aquarium for free after the event. 

Also, a special "Thank You" to our WAVE Club advisors and parents/guardians for taking the time out to enjoy this day with the students and to Heidi Ballendorf (Tourism Education Council Executive Director / Guam WAVE Club) and Kyle Madapat (Power 98 Media Celebrity) for hosting this fun filled event (: 🎉

Being proactive as a school using the "Stop, Walk, and Talk" strategy including the "High Five (Ignore, Talk Friendly, Walk Away, Talk Firmly, Report)" are ways students can prevent unwanted behavior from a peer/peers.
